This is my attempt at a high-speed bullet impact simulation in Houdini, with a focus on debris, force, and timing.
For this Project I imagined what would happen if a bullet would break through a leaf.
The outcome was quite boring, so I exaggerated the effect and added some unrealistic sparks and fire, slow-motion and a burning fringe.
With those fanciful targets it was quite fun to experiment with vellum and pyro solver. I also used the new Houdini 20 ripple solver for the initial shake, when the bullet hits the leaf.
